Vernal, Ut.- On 9/11/23, Deputy Pratt received a phone call from an individual and was informed that 26-year-old Hailey Goddard had asked them to give her a ride into Vernal from the Jensen area.
Dispatch confirmed that Hailey had active no-bail warrants out of 8th District Court in Vernal.
The vehicle driver told the Deputy their approximate location and that they had Hailey with them. Deputy Pratt conducted a traffic stop near 2200 East Hwy 40. Hailey was sitting in the back seat on the driver's side.
Hailey was asked to step out of the vehicle and was informed that she was under arrest for her warrants. The Deputy asked Hailey if she had any drugs or paraphernalia on her. She stated that she did, removed a silver-colored metal tin from her bra area, and handed it to Deputy Pratt.
Inside the tin was two bags of meth and one fentanyl pill. Hailey also stated that the Deputy would find meth and fentanyl inside the container.
Hailey was placed into handcuffs and transported to the Uintah County Jail. When they arrived at the jail, Hailey removed a piece of tin foil with a partially smoked fentanyl pill wrapped inside.
Hailey was booked on four no-bail warrants from the 8th District Court and new charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Fentanyl, and Possession of drug paraphernalia due to the contents of the tin foil and the metal container provided to me by Hailey.
Hailey was booked without incident, and the charges were enhanced due to her prior convictions. These current offenses are not felony charges. However, Deputy Pratt is requesting Hailey be held without bail due to her flight risk. She has no home address and is known to spend time with people who live in Colorado.
