Woman Contacts Authorities Following Son’s Intoxicated Assault

Uintah County (6/13/26)—Deputy McDavid from the Uintah County Sheriff's Office was sent to a family dispute in Naples. The caller reported that her son was intoxicated and had become physically aggressive.

It was noted that he had left the house and was headed toward 1500 E.

The man told the deputy that he hadn't consumed any alcohol and that the disagreement with his family had been solely verbal. While they spoke, he pointed out that the vehicle parked nearby belonged to his mother. Sgt. Gray remained with 37-year-old Zachary Art Harrison as Deputy McDavid approached his mother.

She relayed that Zachary had been drinking, and a minor argument had escalated. He grew increasingly upset, grabbed a flower pot from the front porch, and hurled it into the yard. As she tried to re-enter the house afterward, Zachary followed her inside and shoved her from behind, causing her to fall and scrape her knee. She showed the officers the scrape she sustained during the altercation. After getting back up, she tried to push Zachary away.

While talking to Zachary’s mother, the deputy noticed another person in the passenger seat, Zachary's brother, who had witnessed the incident. Deputy McDavid requested him to exit the vehicle to provide his perspective. The brother confirmed that he had nothing further to add and supported their mother's account.

Zachary’s mother also mentioned a previous incident involving Zachary and his father the night before. When asked if his father was present during the latest incident, she said he had left to avoid involvement.

Deputy McDavid returned to Zachary to share the new information he had received. He informed Zachary that he believed the dispute had escalated past just words; however, he continued to deny any physical component.

Zachary confessed to throwing the flower pot from the porch. When asked how his mother received the scrape on her knee, he speculated that she might have fallen but did not recall the details.

During their interaction, law enforcement detected the smell of alcohol on Zachary. When asked how much he had consumed, he initially claimed to have had one drink, then adjusted that to two or three after further questioning.

Zachary was subsequently arrested and taken to Deputy McDavid's patrol vehicle. A search of his car yielded no significant findings. He was transported to the Uintah County Jail by Deputy Roth.

Deputy McDavid returned to the original location to speak with the complainant and her husband. He inquired about the previous night's events, to which her husband was initially reluctant but eventually stated that when Zachary drinks, he becomes violent, prompting him to remove himself from the situation.

His wife added that Zachary had pushed her husband down and kicked him multiple times, indicating areas on his back and right side. When asked for confirmation, the husband acknowledged this, noting that he did not think it resulted in any bruising. The deputy requested to take a look, prompting the man to lift his shirt. While no bruising was apparent on his back, a dark spot was visible on his right side, just above the hip.

Upon further inspection, he revealed a large bruise on that side, attributing it to one of his son's kicks during the altercation.

Zachary Harrison was booked into the Uintah County Jail on the following charges:

Assault- for causing bodily harm to two separate individuals, one being his mother and the other being his father.

Intoxication- For being intoxicated at the time of the incident and being a danger to others as a result of the alcohol.
