The Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office received information that a wanted man was staying in a trailer park in Myton, Utah.

Deputy Robinson and Cpl. Cox arrived at the trailer park and knocked on two of the camp trailers; a female answered. The deputies inquired about the whereabouts of 32-year-old Joseph Allen Keel.

The female said he slept in her truck all night. Cpl Cox verified that there was an individual in the truck under a blanket and knocked on the window.

The deputies opened the door of the truck, asked Joseph if he had anything illegal, and placed him in handcuffs. It was verified through dispatch that his warrants were still active.

Inside the truck, there was drug paraphernalia in plain view in the seat and on the dashboard in the form of melted plastic pens with brown residue commonly known as a tooter straw and a substance consistent with fentanyl.

There were also pieces of tin foil with a dark brown tar-like substance, a container with a white crystal-like substance consistent with methamphetamine, and a backpack that was on the center console, in reach of Joseph, containing a 10-inch bladed knife.

Joseph Keel was transported to the Duchesne County Jail, and upon arrival, another piece of tinfoil with burnt residue was found in his pocket.

Joseph is a convicted felon and has had two prior drug offenses in the past seven years, which makes this offense a felony charge.
