Vernal City Police Locate And Arrest A Fugitive

Vernal, Ut. — On March 27th, 2024, Sgt Roth located a fugitive at 717 East Main Street and took him into custody.

Cpl Randall responded to the area to assist, and when he arrived, Sgt Roth was searching the male suspect's person.

The male was identified as 38-year-old Brad James Moore.

Sgt Roth pulled a chain out of Brad’s pocket. The chain had a small black vial attached to it. The lid was taken off, and there were two small plastic bags inside. A blue M30 Fentanyl pill was in one bag, and meth was in the other bag.

Brad was transported to the Uintah County Jail, and while being searched in the jail, a piece of tin foil and a plastic tube was found in a shoulder pocket. The plastic tube had burnt marks, and a small blue pill was in the tinfoil. The plastic tube was the hollow portion of a syringe.

Cpl Randall determined there was probable cause that Brad Moore knowingly and intentionally possessed a controlled substance.

Brad was booked into the Uintah County Jail on the following charges:

Two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance Schedule I/II/Analog

One count of Use or Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

One count of Bringing a Prohibited Item into a Correctional/Mental Health Facility
