| Uintah County, Ut. | October 9th, 2024 |

On 10/8/24, at around 10:30 pm, a female called 911 from a cell phone that was out of service telling them she has a protective order against 49-year-old Denny Jay Hatch, who was at her camp trailer refusing to leave.

When Deputy Pratt arrived, the female told him that Denny had run off when she called 911. She stated Denny had threatened to kill her and burn down the camp trailer where she was inside.

The victim told the deputy that Denny used a can of bear spray to spray into the camper's side window, attempting to get her out of the camper.

Deputy Pratt confirmed with dispatch that there was currently a protective order in place between the victim and Denny.

The deputy was able to see the dark-colored liquid dripping down the side of the camp trailer coming from the window where the victim told the deputy Denny sprayed the bear spray.

By the front door to the camper was a backpack, a long board-style skateboard, and a blue cell phone, which the victim told Deputy Pratt were Denny's property.

The police were unable to find Denny in the dark along the river, so the search was called off for the time being.

On 10/9/2024, at approximately 7:00 pm, Denny spoke with the female inside the camp trailer. He stated that the victim gave him a ride from town to the camp trailer today.

However, the protective order is against Denny, and he is not to have any contact with the victim.

Denny was placed under arrest at the camp trailer, which is where the female resides. Denny refused to speak with Deputy Pratt about the incidents.

Denny is being charged with:

Aggravated assault - Denny was threatening to kill the female, pounding on the trailer, and then made a show of force by spraying the bear spray into the camper. Also, the bear spray does affect a person's airways and can cause harm to them.

Protective Order Violation - being at the victim's camp trailer.

Threats of Violence - Denny was threatening to beat up and kill the female and was attempting to get into the camp trailer where the victim was.
