Roosevelt City Police were advised of a vehicle leaving a suspected drug house in Roosevelt City.

A short time later, an officer located the vehicle as it was leaving the area and initiated a traffic stop.

Three occupants were inside the vehicle. The driver is unknown. A front-seat passenger and a rear driver-side passenger occupied the vehicle.

The front passenger identified himself as 48-year-old Alfred Scott Checora, who had an active arrest warrant.

The rear passenger was identified as 58-year-old Matthew Paul Romero, a subject the officer knew from previous encounters involving controlled substances.

The officers K9 gave a positive indication of the presence of narcotics. All occupants were removed from the vehicle, and Alfred Checora was arrested for an active warrant.

While searching the rear driver-side seat area where Mathew had been sitting, the officers lifted the seat and saw a small object drop from between the seats onto the floor. The object was in a small plastic bag containing a white crystalline substance consistent with methamphetamine.

Also, on the floor in the same area was a clear glass pipe commonly used for smoking meth. A THC device was found on the front passenger floorboard where Alfred had been sitting. Alfred admitted ownership of the THC vape.

Alfred and Matthew were taken to the Duchesne County Jail and were later released.
