In October 2024, a Task Force Agent with the FBI assigned to the Uintah/Ouray Safe Trails Task Force assisted with conducting a controlled buy utilizing a confidential human source (CHS).
Arrangements were made to purchase an eight-ball of methamphetamine from 51-year-old Lori Diane Bailey. The CHS met Lori at a location in West Uintah County.

An exchange of money for the 8 ball of meth was completed. After retaining the meth from the CHS, it was placed into evidence at the Uintah County Sheriff's Office.
On November 5, 2024, Deputy Watkins saw a vehicle in Lapoint with Wyoming plates and conducted a traffic stop. He had Lori exit the vehicle and advised her of her Miranda Rights, and she stated she understood and wanted to speak with an attorney.
Lori Bailey was arrested for the distribution of methamphetamine and a suspended driver's license. The distribution of methamphetamine was charged as a second-degree felony. Lori has two distribution/or with intent convictions, one in 2008 and the second in 2021, and she has a felony drug conviction in 2015.
