Roosevelt City Police responded to reports of a dog that had been shot by a neighbor in the area of 400 West 100 North in Roosevelt, Ut.
When Officer Arnold arrived, he spoke with 40-year-old Brandon Francis Johnson, who said he was inside his home when he heard a gunshot and then dogs "getting loud."
Brandon stated he went outside and saw his neighbor across the street walking back into his garage carrying a gun.
A few minutes later, the neighbor arrived home, and Officer Arnold spoke with him. Brandon started walking across the street during the conversation, yelling at the neighbor.
The officer told Brandon to stop yelling and go back to the other side of the street, but he continued to yell. Officer Arnold told Brandon that if he didn't stop yelling, he would be going to jail, but Brandon continued yelling.
Officer Arnold placed Brandon in cuffs, began walking him over to his patrol vehicle, and transported him to the Roosevelt Police Department.
The officer told Brandon to walk toward the door, and he said, "You need to carry me." Brandon told the officer it was because he was lightheaded and then sat down.
The officer told Brandon to get back in the vehicle and asked if he needed to go to the hospital. Brandon said no, stood up, and got back into the vehicle without any problems.
Officer Arnold asked Brandon if he could walk over to the other patrol vehicle, and he said he could and that he was fine. Brandon walked over to Officer Reed's vehicle without a problem, and Officer Reed transported Brandon to the Duchesne County Jail.
The probable cause report doesn’t say if the neighbor shot the dog or if he was arrested.
