Roosevelt City Police assist in an apartment fire at the Stoneridge Apartment complex.

Roosevelt, Utah (4/14/26)—Officer Wheeler was dispatched to a fire assist at 100 E 800 S and arrived on scene at around 9:43 pm, and could see flames coming from the back of one of the apartments.
The officer quickly grabbed her fire extinguisher to put out the flames. She ran to the top of the stairs, but couldn't see the front doors to either of the units because of the smoke. She did see the legs of a female and could hear her crying and yelling hysterically.
Officer Wheeler knew the female as 46-year-old Mindy Pauline Robinson from previous interactions, and the unit that was on fire was hers. As the officer tried to speak with her, Mindy slurred her words, and the officer couldn't make out what she was saying. Mindy did not have any pants, shoes, or underwear on, just a T-shirt.
The officer attempted to enter the apartment but was unable to due to heavy smoke coming from the apartment. She then tried to get Mindy down the stairs, but she would not move because of her lack of clothing and injured foot. Mindy's daughter arrived and stayed with Mindy at the bottom of the stairs while Officer Wheeler ran back to her patrol vehicle to get a blanket for her.
Mindy refused to listen to officers when told to sit down and to stop yelling.
Officers attempted to clear all residents of the unit. Once clearing residents out of the units, officers attempted to speak with Mindy, but due to her level of intoxication, Mindy would constantly change subjects and disobey orders from officers. Mindy was arrested due to her level of intoxication, disorderly behavior, and resisting officers when they arrested her.
Mindy was then transported to Uintah Basin Medical Center for medical clearance. Mindy continued to be disorderly at the hospital, making it difficult for medical staff to assist or treat her. She would continue to yell at officers and staff. Mindy had to be restrained with soft cuffs due to her not cooperating and resisting with both staff and police.
While at the hospital, Mindy would repeatedly mention how "Robert" had lit her apartment on fire. Officers had been to Mindy's apartment twice earlier in the day because she was yelling very loudly and could be heard throughout the complex. Both officers who responded to the calls identified the female as Mindy Robinson. Officers had observed on both occasions that Mindy was home alone and that no one else was present. Mindy was advised that if officers returned to her residence, she would be arrested.
Police had attempted to locate "Robert" but were unable to during their previous interactions with Mindy. Officers contacted AP&P and the Sheriff's department to locate "Robert Whitehead," as Mindy had previously stated that he was on parole. Neither agency had any record of a "Robert Whitehead" matching Mindy's description.
Mindy stated that Robert lives at the Stoneridge apartments, but when police went to that apartment, they were unable to locate the individual.
Officer Wheeler Mirandized Mindy and asked whether she wanted to talk to her; she stated that she would. Mindy stated again that “Robert Whitehead” had been to her home and set the fire. When asked what time, Mindy stated that she did not know. She also stated that Robert had been there earlier in the morning but could not recall anything else.
Officers left the room and waited for detectives. Miranda invoked her 5th amendment right and requested an attorney.
Mindy was then transported to Duchesne County Jail.
