Police responded to a single-vehicle accident that had run off the road into a field

| Uintah County | May 26th, 2025 |

Monday at 7 AM, Utah Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle accident on SR-121 near milepost 24.

Dispatch advised Trooper Willoughby that a vehicle had run off the road and into a pond.

When the trooper arrived at the crash scene, there was a vehicle wreaked in a field just off SR-121 with EMTs getting an individual onto a stretcher and into the ambulance. The individual was identified as 19-year-old Anilora Paulei Redfoot.

A records check of Redfoots license showed expired, and the vehicle's insurance showed expired May 15, 2025.

The trooper asked Redfoot what happened, and she told him that she had come around the corner and closed her eyes when she ran off the road. She was then transported to Uintah Basin Hospital in Vernal by ambulance.

Trooper Willoughby performed an inventory on Redfoot's vehicle and found a THC vape pen in the back seat. In the bed of the vehicle he found a cooler full of a variety of alcohol.

The trooper went to the hospital to speak with Redfoot about the accident. She described she was coming around the corner into Lapoint traveling westbound. Redfoot slowed down for the turn when she closed her eyes, and the next thing she knew, she crashed.

Trooper Willoughby asked Redfoot if he could check her eyes, to which she consented. He observed two out of six clues on HGN and did not have Redfoot perform the nine-step walk and turn, and the one-leg stand due to the injuries she sustained during the crash. Redfoot consented to the PBT which indicated a negative amount of alcohol.

When the trooper asked if she had anything to drink, she stated yes, but only last night, not today. When asked about the last time she used THC, Redfoot said the previous night around 9 PM.

Trooper Willoughby believed Anilora Redfoot was too impaired to operate a vehicle and placed her under arrest for DUI.

Anilora Paulei Redfoot may post bail in the amount of $3,000.00.
