Police spoke with the female victim, Kailey, about an domestic violence incident that took place at the Quality Inn on Highway 40 in Vernal the day before.
Kailey stated that she and her ex-boyfriend, 25-year-old Hayden Chad Robinson, checked into the hotel and began drinking. Sometime in the night, they got into an argument when Hayden called her a whore, which escalated things.
Hayden began throwing and breaking things inside the hotel room. He threw a lamp into the TV and broke another lamp. Kailey said she punched him in an attempt to get him to stop. In response, Hayden allegedly picked her up and threw her on the ground and the bed multiple times. She told the officer she thought she was going to die.
Kailey said when she was able to get away, she ran out of the hotel room and hid in the parking lot under a car and behind the garbage cans because she was scared for her life.
After some time passed, she thought it was safe to come out of hiding, but she ran into Hayden again, and the two started arguing once more.
Despite everything, Kailey said she got into the car with Hayden, where they drove to Maverik, and then she got out, ran around, and tried to hide. After another argument, she got back into the car, and they drove to Duchesne.
Kailey told Officer Murray that she was praying the entire time they would either crash or get pulled over so that she wouldn't have to be in the car with him.
The Roosevelt Police Department eventually stopped them, and Hayden was arrested for an outstanding warrant. Kailey didn't report anything at the time because Hayden was sitting next to her, and she was scared.
Kailey lives in Eagle Mountain and was advised to follow up with her local police department and contact victim advocates about obtaining a protective order.
Based on Kailey's statements and the evidence available, it was believed that Hayden Robinson committed the following offenses:
Aggravated Assault-DV (for choking/impeding her ability to breathe)
Property Damage < $500- (for damaging the hotel room)
Unlawful Detention- (for continually throwing her back into the room when she attempted to leave)
Officer Murray is requesting a warrant for Hayden's arrest based on this investigation.
