Police Dispatched To A Man Who Pulled A Gun On His Wife And Their Dog

Vernal City Police were dispatched to 126 North 500 East of a report that a husband had pulled a gun on his wife and their dog.
Officer Nielsen arrived at the location where 43-year-old David James Porter was outside his residence.
David stated shit went sideways after smoking a cigarette. David said he pulled out the gun to threaten the dog when his wife took the gun out of his hand. Davis said he took it back and put the gun away.
David said he then went outside and stated that he got the gun out of the lockbox because he was mad.
David stated he had drunk approximately a six-pack and provided a breath sample on a Portable Breath Test, with the results being .053 BrAC.
Officer Nielsen then spoke with David's wife inside the residence. She stated that they started to argue over cigarettes and continued arguing back and forth. She stated that David then got the gun and started to load it. She stated that she took the gun for a brief time, and then David took it back and put it away.
Officer Nielsen determined that David had committed a threatening manner when he got the firearm from the room and proceeded to load it. This was domestic violence enhancement.
David Porter was booked into Uintah County Jail for threatening with or using a weapon in a fight or quarrel with the domestic violence enhancement, domestic violence in the presence of a child, and Intoxication.
James Porter may post bail in the amount of $2,500.00.
