Police Arrest Man for Alleged Domestic Assault in Tridell

Tridell, Utah (6/8/26)—Sgt. Cheshire arrived in Tridell and spoke with 47-year-old Steven Blaine Hague and his wife.
After examining the situation, Sgt. Cheshire found no sufficient evidence to support a claim of domestic violence. During the inquiry into the reported incident, Steven's wife revealed that he had struck her in the face on the evening of June 5th, 2026, at their home.
The woman showed the deputy photos taken after the incident that showed noticeable bleeding from her nose.
She recounted that they had returned home from a camping trip and had been arguing throughout the drive. Once home, the dispute escalated, leading Steven to punch her.
After being read his rights, Steven acknowledged understanding and agreed to speak with Sgt. Cheshire. He admitted to the altercation, claiming his wife had initiated the physical confrontation, prompting him to guard his face. He suggested her injury might have occurred when they fell from the couch to the floor during their struggle. Steven had previously made the comment that he believed his wife had punched herself in the face because she had done it before.
Steven did not exhibit any visible injuries, while the victim had minor bruising around her eyes and near the bridge of her nose.
It was concluded that Steven was the primary aggressor in the domestic violence incident on June 5th, 2026, leading to his arrest.
He was taken to the Uintah County Jail, where he was booked on charges of Domestic Violence Assault. A Jail Release Agreement was issued alongside his booking.
Currently, Steven is on pre-trial release for previous charges and admitted to consuming alcohol, with an odor detected on him. He was uncertain whether a no-alcohol condition was part of his pre-trial terms.
Steven's criminal records indicate prior domestic violence charges, the most recent dated back to 2013.
