Roosevelt, Ut. 10/27/23, Cpl Barton was dispatched to a home located at 519 East 700 North regarding drug activity. Dispatch stated that a male was at the home doing drugs with some of his friends.
The complainant stated the male was coming in and out of the home with other people using drugs with children in the residence. Cpl Barton arrived on scene and was escorted into the home by the complainant and was told the male was in the back room.
Barton walked down the hallway, knocked on the door, and made contact with the male. He asked the male about him living there, partying, and using drugs. He stated that he wasn't partying or using drugs and that he had lived there on and off for a long time.
While speaking with the male, Barton noticed a 21-year-old female in a bedroom by the name of Antonya Jodine Shalee Land. Barton has had previous dealings with Antonya regarding illegal narcotics. Antonya had attempted or destroyed evidence in Barton's past dealings with her.
Cpl Barton began to look around when speaking with them and observed a plastic bag with marijuana on the floor. The two were informed that Barton could see the marijuana in a bag right in front of him by the garbage can. Barton then asked for consent to search the room, and the male stated that he did not give consent.
A search warrant was applied for the residence, and it was granted. Barton provided a copy of the search warrant to them, and the bedroom was searched. Methamphetamine was found in plastic baggies, as well as a pipe that was used to smoke methamphetamine that was inside Antonya's backpack and other luggage with female items and clothing.
The same type of drugs and drug paraphernalia was located in plain view that belonged to the male suspect. Antonya was placed under arrest and transported to the Duchesne County Jail. Antonya was booked into jail for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
