Myton man with a warrant gets chased down by a deputy and hauled to jail

5-15-25

| Myton, Ut. | May 12th, 2025 |

Cpl Cox was patrolling in Myton when he saw a male he recognized, 21-year-old Damion Thanx Rasmussen-Boren, who was wanted on a felony no-bail warrant.

As the deputy drove by, Damion looked at him, smiled, and waived. The officer turned around and stopped, and told Damion to come over to him.

Damion stopped and then started to walk back, telling Cpl Cox that he was his brother, not Damion. The deputy told him to come over anyway, but he continued to argue and said he had been doing "good."

Cpl Cox stated, "You are not free to leave, and if you run from me, I will chase you down in my car." Damion continued to walk away.

The deputy told Damion he would be tased if he didn’t comply. Damion then took off running through a canal and a field.

Cpl Cox turned on his overhead lights and watched Damion run towards Main Street. Damion ran into a trailer park with the deputy following behind in his patrol vehicle.

Cpl Cox exited his vehicle, where the pursuit began on foot.

As the deputy went by a house, he spotted Damion hiding in the corner of a doorway. Cpl Cox pointed his taser at the suspect ordering him to get on the ground. He complied and went to the ground.

Damion was placed in handcuffs behind his back and double-locked.

Damion was asked if he had anything on him, and he said he didn’t think so. When the deputy searched his right front pocket, there was a white piece of paper that contained marijuana.

Damion Thanx Rasmussen-Boren may post bail in the amount of $5,000.00.

If Damion Thanx Rasmussen-Boren posts bail as stated above, Damion is hereby ordered to be released subject to the following conditions:

• Promise to appear for all required court proceedings

• Promise not to commit any criminal offense

• Report your contact information and any change in address, phone, or email to the Court and your attorney within 1 business day of the change.

• 4th Amendment Rights Waiver in agreement

• Fee: $250 (per month)

• GPS ankle monitor

• Random drug testing (up to 3 times per week)

• Warrant amount for failing to call in: $100 (per month)

• Appear in Court when required

• Commit no new offenses during the period of release

• Defendant shall forfeit or refrain from possession of a firearm or other dangerous weapon.

In those jurisdictions where pretrial release and supervision authority have been granted by written agreement, defendants may be released to pretrial services without posting bail, consistent with the terms of that agreement.
