On May 7th, 2025, a 23-year-old female and multiple witnesses reported that the female's father, 42-year-old Jesse Roy Nash, had assaulted her after becoming angry from the trash and beer cans left in the yard.
Witnesses stated that Jesse yelled at the victim while following her to her bedroom. The victim handed her 8-month-old child to her boyfriend before Jesse kicked down the baby gate and grabbed the victim.
Jesse slammed her to the ground and put his leg on her throat. He got off the victim and attempted to kick her before telling her to get out of the house.
Deputy Roth observed multiple bruises on the victim, including her back and bruising on her neck that coincided with a hand being wrapped around her throat.
After the assault, Jesse told the victim to go for a drive with him. When she refused, witnesses reported seeing Jesse drive to the back of the property and fire multiple gunshots.
During the interview with the victim and the witnesses, a vehicle accelerated North of the home. The sound of squealing tires on the road and the vehicle increasing its speed could be heard as the vehicle came into view.
The vehicle passed in front of the property, and the victim identified the vehicle as the one Jesse had left in.
The vehicle began activating its brakes, causing its tires to chirp and slide as it pulled into the deputy’s location, narrowly missing a parked patrol vehicle with a Uintah County Sheriff’s Office Deputy inside his vehicle.
Jesse got out of the vehicle, yelling and refusing to listen to the deputy's commands to stop. Deputies eventually had to utilize a Taser to Jesse to take him into custody after he abruptly turned towards Deputy Roth and made an advance that he later told deputies that he had the intention of hurting a law enforcement officer.
Jesse was transported and booked into the Uintah County Jail. The offense of Aggravated Assault is a felony 3 charge and is charged as a domestic violence incident.
Jesse committed the crime in the vicinity of an 8-month-old child and has shown a disregard for the safety of others and, an unwillingness to obey law enforcement commands and had the intention of assaulting law enforcement. It is this officer's belief that Jesse constitutes a substantial danger to the victim and others in the home as well as those within the law enforcement community if released.~Deputy Roth
