Vernal, Utah—On March 25th, 2026, Deputy Russell was asked to meet with a female who was at the Vernal City Police Department filling out a witness statement about being assaulted.

The deputy asked the woman to describe what had happened. She stated that the night before, she and 44-year-old Hadgi Donsha Robinson got into an argument when he asked her for a reason to stay with her.

The woman ignored Hadgi, which upset him, and he left the room. She then began cooking dinner when Hadgi came into the kitchen again, and asked his girlfriend to explain why he should stay with her. Again, she ignored him because she didn't want to argue.

The female told the deputy that Hadgi took his arm, wiped everything off the counter onto the wall, and then spilled onto the floor. The woman said that at this point, she was getting scared, went to retrieve her phone, and wanted to leave the residence. She said Hadgi took her phone out of her hands, threw it into another room, and stood in front of her, preventing her from leaving.

The doorbell rang, and Hadgi went to open the door for the pizza delivery guy. She thought this would be a good time to leave and tried to get out of the house, but Hadgi blocked her from leaving by shutting the door quickly.

The female said once the door was closed, Hadgi put down the pizza and grabbed her by the throat and the back of her head, yelling at her, asking why she would do that in front of people. She stated Hadgi then let go of her neck, and she begged him to stop. He grabbed her by the neck once again and choked her once more.

Hadgi was arrested and booked into the Uintah County Jail for aggravated assault, domestic violence, and unlawful detention.

Hadgi is out on bail awaiting a trial for a felony sexual assault of a child and has been arrested on the current charge, which is a felony due to the aggravated circumstances of the assault. There is a continued pattern of Hadgi assaulting the victim, shown by the multiple reports in the recent past, as well as the victim stating that Hadgi has threatened to kill her before.
