On 11/29/24. Sgt. Cannon was dispatched to a drug activity call to a residence in Vernal, where he met with the complainant. She advised the officer that her grandson had been staying with her and left drugs in her home.
The complainant informed the officer that the drugs were in a room that 29-year-old Allen Logan Hileman used as a "hangout."
Sgt. Cannon was shown a photo of the suspected controlled substance and observed a glass bong with suspected meth inside of it.
Sgt. Cannon obtained a search warrant to search the "hideout," upon searching the room, men's clothing items that appeared to belong to Allen were found. Two glass bongs containing meth, a plastic tube containing heroin, eight 8mg/2mg Buprenorphine Naloxone (Suboxone) strips, and several pieces of foil with suspected burnt heroin on them were located on a shelf in the bedroom.
On 1/7/25, Officers found Allen Hileman in reference to a separate incident. Sgt Cannon met with Allen to speak with him about this case, and he confirmed that he stayed with his grandma and had left some personal items at the home.
The officer asked Allen about the drugs and paraphernalia he found in the bedroom, and he admitted that they were his and were old.
Allen was placed under arrest, and during a search of his person, a metal makeshift pipe was found in his front right pocket that contained burnt marijuana. Allen stated he had a medical marijuana card, but was later confirmed by dispatch his card had expired in 2023.
Allen Hileman was taken to the county jail and was asked by a corrections deputy if he had anything illegal on his person. Allen stated that he didn’t believe so. A search of Allen's person revealed a small plastic baggy containing suspected brown powder (heroin) in his sock.
Allen confirmed that the baggy located in his sock was heroin, and it was his drug of choice. Allen stated he last used heroin this evening.
