While out on patrol in the area of 1200 West Highway 40, Officer Maughan found a female he was previously informed about who had an active statewide warrant for her arrest.

The officer stopped to speak with 34-year-old Sasha Morningstar Antonio and confirmed she had an active statewide warrant for her arrest.

Sasha was placed into handcuffs and secured into a patrol vehicle. Sasha had a purse and a cloth bag with her that was searched. In the purse was a small white plastic container with a red THC warning label. Inside the container was a yellowish-waxy substance recognized to be marijuana wax.

Also in the bag were multiple lighters, along with a lens from a pair of sunglasses that appeared burnt. The lens also had burnt residue on each side. Officer Maughan requested dispatch confirm if Sasha had a valid medical marijuana card, which came back that she did not.

Sasha was then transported to the Uintah County Jail to be booked on the charges.

When they arrived at the jail, the officer asked Sasha if she had anything else that wasn't allowed inside. She was informed that if she did, it would be a third-degree felony, which she denied having anything.

While being searched at the jail, an assisting deputy showed Officer Maughan a burnt glass meth pipe that Sasha had concealed in her bra strap. The pipe was burnt on the end and contained a white crystalline substance recognized to be methamphetamine. A bag of the same white crystalline substance was also found in her purse. Another deputy assisted in searching, which was also recognized as meth.

Sasha stated that she didn't know that the pipe was there, saying that it wasn't her bra.

Sasha also said she knew about the bag of meth in her purse.

Sasha had 3 prior convictions for possession of controlled substances, which enhanced the following offenses.

Possession of marijuana: This charge was enhanced to a class A misdemeanor.

Possession of a controlled substance schedule 1 or 2, this charge was enhanced to a third-degree felony.
