Drug dealer arrested after selling illegal narcotics to an informant

Arrangements were made with a confidential informant to purchase illegal narcotics from 59-year-old Rory Wayne Pierce.
Agents with the Uintah Basin Narcotic Strike Force met with the CI at a prearranged location and searched the informant's person and vehicle. No weapons, money or controlled substances were located.
The informant was issued some cash, which had been photocopied, to be used to purchase the drugs.
The CI drove to the Pierce residence, knocked on the door, and entered the trailer. A short time later, the CI left the residence to meet with the agents.
After the drug transaction was complete, the CI reported that after entering Rory's trailer, he saw that Rory had a large amount of meth and estimated it to be around three to five pounds.
Rory then packaged up a small baggie worth, and they exchanged the money for the baggie of Methamphetamine. They continued chatting briefly, then the CI left the residence. The CI turned over the small baggie containing suspected Methamphetamine. The baggie weighed 6.6 g.
The Methamphetamine was booked into evidence at the Uintah County Sheriff's Office.
On 2/27/26, Rory was located at his residence in Vernal, Ut. He was arrested and booked into jail for possession with intent to distribute Methamphetamine and paraphernalia. This is one of three cases Rory is being charged with for the distribution of Methamphetamine. His charges are being enhanced due to prior convictions for the distribution of a controlled substance.
