Domestic Disturbance Call Leads to Woman’s Assault Allegation Disproven by Police Investigation

Fruitland, Utah (6/18/26)—At approximately 2 AM, 911 received a report regarding a domestic disturbance in the Fruitland vicinity.

Chantelle reported an ongoing argument with her girlfriend, 37-year-old Ashley Nicole Duran, escalating after Ashley allegedly threw a kitten against a wall.

Deputies Green and Robinson responded and met with Chantelle, who explained that Ashley had been drinking all day and was currently lying down in their shared motorhome.

Chantelle claimed that the two had been shouting at each other all day and said Ashley had physically removed her from the motorhome. When asked if anyone else was present, she mentioned that Robert was there as well.

Deputy Green sought to speak with Robert, but Chantelle informed him that Robert and others had left when the argument intensified after they were asked to stop, prompting the two women to return to their motorhome for the night. The deputy then instructed Chantelle to contact Robert, which she did via FaceTime.

In the conversation, Robert stated that the arguing had been ongoing since around 10 PM, even after requests for it to stop. He was asked if he had seen any physical altercation and replied that he had not, though Chantelle had claimed she was "pushed out" of the motorhome. She later indicated she was "thrown out" and expressed pain, but Robert did not support this claim and said he had not witnessed any physical altercation.

When questioned about how she was thrown out and the cause of her pain, Chantelle described being grabbed by the chest while seated backward in the driver's seat and then picked up, forcefully removed, and thrown out of the door.

Deputy Green noted in the probable cause report that Chantelle's account did not align with the motorhome's layout, as furniture and other items would obstruct such an action. He shared his doubts with her, to which she responded that she had visible marks. The deputy requested that she show these marks, but he was unable to see them. He informed her about the next steps regarding the evidence collected.

After reviewing all information and available evidence, the deputies concluded no assault had occurred. Instead, deputies concluded that no assault had occurred; rather, the situation was one of disorderly conduct and intoxication. Based on the statements by both Chantelle and Robert, it was decided that Chantelle would receive a citation for disorderly conduct, while Ashley would be arrested and taken to the Duchesne County Jail for processing on charges of disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

Ashley was helped out of the motorhome, as she was having difficulty maintaining her balance. She was not aggressive and was cooperative, although her level of intoxication indicated she could not care for herself safely upon release.
