On 2/27/25, DNR Investigator Miller located a camp trailer on Utah State Trust Land and told the campers they couldn't stay longer than fifteen consecutive days without moving at least 5 miles.
The male, Brandon Murray, stated he was moving from the location that night.

On 4/21/25, DLE Officer Lilga saw a camp trailer matching the pictures from investigator Miller parked in the same spot. He went to the camper, but no one was around.
A few hours later, Officer Lilga went back to the camp trailer, but no one was there. The officer spotted a brown Ford Explorer pass his location and recognized the driver as Brandon Murray from previous interactions.
The officer conducted a traffic stop near Cottonwood Reservoir and had Deputy Oldham run his narcotics K9 around the camper to perform a free-air sniff. He received a positive indication on the driver's side.
Upon searching the vehicle, a needle was discovered inside 47-year-old Rebecca Ruth Gavin's purse. Inside the needle was a liquid substance brown in color, consistent with methamphetamine. Three open alcoholic beverage containers are also located in the back seat passenger area of the vehicle.
Brandon and Rebecca admitted to living in the camp trailer for over a month and stated they were waiting for an investigator to inform them they had to move.
A search warrant was approved for the trailer, and while serving the warrant, several needles were found with a brown liquid substance consistent with methamphetamine.
Rebecca Gavin was booked into the Uintah County Jail.
