Officer Escobedo arrived at a residence and saw a set of tire tracks in the snow on the front lawn. Someone had apparently neglected to use the driveway and instead drove across the grass.

The officer made contact with the Victim at the front door and was given permission to enter the home.

The Victim stated that she and 34-year-old Keith Travis McClure had been arguing in the garage in the backyard of the residence, which could be heard from inside the house. Three male juveniles, two of whom were children of the Victim, could hear the conflict.

The Victim stated that her oldest child (15 years old) had gone into the garage to tell Keith to stop yelling at her. Keith then made a verbal threat towards her child to the effect of, "I'm not afraid to go to prison," as quoted by the Victim.

One of the juveniles stated while in the garage, Keith had been punching a punching bag while making verbal threats, then had "tried coming at us."

The Victim stated Keith continued to make threats towards her child inside of the house and advanced toward the child, but the Victim stood in between them, preventing Keith from harming him.

At that time, the Victim tried to get Keith to calm down, but he left the residence, driving his truck across the front lawn.

The argument between the Victim and Keith involved Keith throwing beer cans and turning over a table. The Victim stated he threw two unopened beer cans against a wall and a third unopened beer that hit the Victim in the hip.

She stated Keith had grabbed her the night before by the arm, which left a bruise. The officer could see a small bruise on her arm consistent with the size and shape of a person's thumb.

Officer Escobedo went to where Keith was near 300 West 100 South where he had been stopped related to this incident. He stated he had flipped the table over and threw two beers against the wall but denied making threats or hitting the Victim with a beer can.

Keith was placed under arrest, and Officer Escobedo conducted a search incident to arrest. Prior to the search, Keith stated he had a scale in his pocket. Sgt. Johnstun asked what residue would be found on the scale, and Keith stated, "Meth."

Officer Mcgaha stated there was a testable amount of a substance consistent with methamphetamine found on the scale.

Keith was transported to the Uintah County Jail, where he was booked on the following charges:

Possession of a Controlled Substance

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Domestic Violence Assault

Threat of Violence

Domestic Violence in the Presence of a Child

Disorderly Conduct After Request to Stop

Why Domestic Violence Increases During the Holiday Season
