Vernal City Police were dispatched to a call for service involving an intoxicated driver who was passed out in the McDonald’s drive-thru with their hazard lights on.
Officer Escobedo pulled into the parking lot and saw the described vehicle at the first window of the drive-thru.
The driver was slumped over and unresponsive but eventually woke up and was confused as to what was going on. The officer asked him to exit the car so he could explain what was going on.
His Utah driver's license identified the driver as 29-year-old Dion Ray Martinez.
When asked why he passed out in his vehicle, Dion said he had a few drinks, specifically stating he had consumed approximately three beers.
After the Field Sobriety Tests, Dion consented to a PBT, which returned with the results of a 0.281 BrAC.
Dion Martinez was placed under arrest, transported, and booked into the Uintah County Jail. Dion may post bail in the amount of $1,460.00.
