Deputy Green was dispatched to an area Northwest of Starvation Reservoir for an assault.
37-year-old Dustin Jess Nelson stated that a male needed medical attention after a physical altercation.
Dustin said that a 55-year-old man had lost consciousness, but he was still breathing. He explained that he and his wife, Megan Glover, went to the man's house for a barbecue, and the man threatened the couple.
Dustin stated the male attacked him, and he had to defend himself, explaining that he left the man on the ground at the residence.
When the deputy arrived, he found the man lying in the dirt and approached him. The male had suffered serious injuries to his head, his face was swollen and bruised, and he was bleeding from the mouth.
The injured man was unable to speak and couldn't answer the deputy's questions. He was later life-flighted to a hospital in the Wasatch front for his injuries.
Dustin was placed under arrest for aggravated assault for an unlawful force or violence, which caused loss of consciousness and serious bodily injury, and taken to the Duchesne County Jail, where he is being held without bail.
