Travis Uresk

12/4/23

Vernal, Ut.- At 11:30 pm on 11/22/23, dispatch was notified of a domestic dispute. Call notes indicated the complainant could hear banging on the neighbor's walls for hours. Officer McCurdy responded to the residence and heard a loud banging noise coming from the residence.

Officer McCurdy knocked on the door, and eventually, a male answered the door after being told it was the police department. 20-year-old Morgan Kevin Angus stepped outside onto the porch after being informed of reports of a disturbance coming from the residence.

Morgan mentioned only a verbal argument occurred between him and his girlfriend, 22-year-old Sidney Dawn Serawop. While speaking with Morgan, he had scratches and minor lacerations on his chest and arm. When Morgan spoke, the officer could smell the odor of alcohol coming from his breath.

Morgan requested that he be able to enter his home to retrieve some clothes; he was advised that the police would need to follow him into the residence to check on Sidney and continue their investigation. Morgan began to turn around and attempted to shut the door on law enforcement.

Morgan Angus was placed into custody at this time. While Morgan was being placed into custody, Sidney appeared from the hallway, half-clothed.

Officer McCurdy spoke with Sidney, and she was fully clothed. Sidney had scratch marks on her upper chest and neck. Sidney confirmed Morgan and she became physical after a verbal altercation occurred. The officer could smell alcohol coming from her breath as well.

Assisting officers advised Sidney resisted their efforts to effect an arrest while Morgan was being escorted to a patrol car. Sidney Serawop and Morgan Angus were arrested and transported to the Uintah County Jail.
