After Being Arrested, Officers Find Drug Paraphernalia Inside The Vehicle

Officer Nielsen was traveling West on US-40 when he conducted a local search on a vehicle's plate that was in front of him. The search returned saying it hadn't had insurance in almost two months.


The vehicle came to a stop near 1850 West US-40, and the officer spoke with the driver, who said right away that the vehicle had no insurance and that he was going to get some soon. He also stated he didn't have a driver's license and was identified as 44-year-old Terry Jake Conetah.


Officer Nielsen had dispatch do a local search, which returned that Terry's driver's license was suspended due to previous 41-6a-530 charges. The license also stated that he was to have an ignition interlock device.


The officer returned to the vehicle and saw that no ignition interlock device was installed. Terry was asked to step out of the vehicle, where he was placed in handcuffs, secured in the patrol vehicle, and transported to the Uintah County Jail.


While taking Terry to the jail, Officer Maughan located multiple pieces of tin foil with burnt black residue while doing a vehicle inventory. Officer Maughan located six plastic straw pieces, commonly known as tooters, with white and brown residue inside.


Also, there are three glass pipes with burnt black residue inside. One glass container that was Marjoram that, had the odor of raw marijuana. Another white container with a small blue metal pipe had burnt residue inside with the smell of burnt marijuana. The white container was labeled Rocky Mountain Cannabis THC.


Terry Conetah was later released.
