At 10:46 am, Deputy Green was dispatched to the Family Dollar in Duchesne to investigate the report of a woman who had been inside the store since around 8:30 am.

The female locked herself in the restroom for approximately 45 minutes after the manager asked her to leave multiple times.

The deputy arrived at Family Dollar at 11:03 am and was informed by a store employee that the woman had to be "run off" because she tried staying at the store after closing last night.

The manager took Deputy Green to the restroom, where the woman still refused to leave. The deputy knocked on the door, announced himself as the police, and knocked again. The deputy could hear a variety of items sliding across the floor while a woman spoke softly.

Deputy Green knocked a third time and received a response from the female, who stated she'd open the door in a moment.

When the door finally opened, the deputy recognized the female as 48-year-old Jamie Elizabeth Maio (Funaro). She had all her belongings scattered on the floor, including a blanket and food items in a shopping cart and a shopping basket.

Deputy Green recognized Jamie because she had been spoken to by deputies twice about trespassing since yesterday afternoon and had been asked to leave both the Eagle's Nest and the Shell Gas Station for remaining at those locations for an extended period of time.

The deputy asked Jamie to leave the business and to stop remaining in local businesses after being asked to leave. Jamie agreed she would comply with this request and began collecting her things.

Jaime would quickly get sidetracked and confused and set her belongings down to reorganize them. While doing this, she was trembling, weak, and confused, having difficulty putting sure statements together.

Through the deputy's training and experience, he recognized Jamie's behavior as intoxication of drugs. Jamie's behavior continued for several minutes, causing a disturbance throughout the store.

When they left the store, the deputy had Jamie place her items in his patrol vehicle and put her into custody.

While taking Jamie into custody, Deputy Green detected a sour, vinegar-like odor coming from her. This odor is also a symptom of the use of methamphetamine.

A search of Jamie's belongings was completed, and it resulted in the discovery of a glass pipe often used as a Meth bubbler with dark, burnt residue within it and two white pills identified using drugs.com as 'Carisoprodol' (a prescription muscle relaxer). Jamie is being charged with the use or possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a prescription drug for any unlawful purpose.

Jamie Maio was arrested for trespassing and remaining unlawful after being asked to leave the store. She is being charged with disorderly conduct for refusing to comply with lawful orders to move from a public place. Jamie has two or more prior convictions of disorderly conduct within a five-year period.

Jamie Elizabeth Maio may post bail in the amount of $5,000.00.
