On June 27, 2025, Deputy Green received a phone call from a male and female who stated they were assaulted on June 26, 2025, while at a cabin on West Elkhorn Drive in the Fruitland area.
The couple reported that 51-year-old Cari Ann Hunter unlawfully entered the cabin while they were asleep and woke them up by turning on the lights and immediately getting physical with them.
The female stated that she was hit in the face, and Cari was consistently trying to attack her and the male.
The two individuals told the deputy that the incident had lasted for several hours. The female said she recorded some of the events with her phone. The male stated that Cari had hit him behind the ear with a whiskey bottle.
Throughout the investigation, Deputy Green discovered that the male and Cari Hunter are married and are still living together in West Valley City.
It was also found that the cabin was not a marital property, and Cari did unlawfully enter the property with the intent to commit an assault, even after being told to leave and stop what she was doing several times.
Cari surrendered herself to the custody of the Duchesne County Sheriff's Office on June 30, 2025, and was placed under arrest.
