At approximately 12:51 am, Deputy Borrelli responded to a claimed shooting that occurred near milepost 100 and US-40.
The complainant, 35-year-old Heather Leann Murray, stated while driving eastbound, someone had shot her back window out. The deputy met with Heather at 1650 South US 40, where she was parked in the middle of the road facing west.
While Deputy Borrelli was performing his investigation, Heather was getting into the driver’s seat when the deputy saw a red lighter and a glass pipe with black and brown burnt residue lying on the floor.
When Heather was seated in the driver's seat, she placed her right foot over the lighter and glass pipe. The deputy asked her what was on the floor, and she quickly reached down, grabbed the two items, and put them in her coat pocket.
Deputy Borrelli asked Heather again what she had just placed in her pocket, and she said a red lighter. The deputy informed Heather that he had seen the glass pipe and instructed her to remove the pipe from her pocket.
Heather stated it was just paraphernalia and asked the deputy to give her a ticket so she could leave. Heather removed the glass pipe and handed it to the deputy. There was white burnt residue in the glass pipe, and when asked what was being smoked in it, she only stated paraphernalia.
Heather was removed from the vehicle and placed under arrest. Heather was handcuffed and put in the back of a patrol vehicle. Heather was then transported to the Duchesne County Jail.
When arriving at the jail, Deputy Borrelli asked Heather if she currently had any other drugs or paraphernalia on her person. Heather stated she had cocaine on the right side of her bra. While inside the Jail, she removed a small brown plastic bag containing a white power substance from her bra. The substance tested positive for cocaine.
The drugs and paraphernalia were seized and booked into evidence. Heather was booked into the Duchesne County Jail for possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

Heather Leann Murray, a 35-year-old from Heber City, is facing multiple felony charges after she allegedly forced four people from a pickup at gunpoint and stole their truck near Bridal Veil Falls.
According to a Utah County Sheriff’s Office affidavit, deputies responded to a call at Bridal Veil Falls in Provo Canyon at about 2 a.m. Saturday.
The callers told 911 dispatchers a woman approached their truck, jumped in, pointed a gun at them and forced them out. The callers – all students at Brigham Young University – said they got out of the truck and ran to hide in some nearby bushes and called 911.
When deputies arrived, Murray was backing up on a frontage road near the falls. Deputies watched as she got out of the truck to look underneath it, and then got back in the truck despite being told not to. According to the affidavit, Murray was also yelling about her son being run over or killed.
Deputies said Murray then backed off the frontage road and drove down into the Provo River.
According to charging documents, deputies ordered her to stop a second time, but Murray accelerated across the river before crashing on the opposite side.
The Sheriff’s office said she then got out of the truck and tried to avoid arrest by walking into willows along the river. Deputies later found Murray approaching a nearby running Jeep which was rented in her name. Murray was ordered to stop but tried to flee until she was tased and placed under arrest by deputies.
Charging documents state authorities found drug paraphernalia and cocaine inside the rental Jeep as well as a silver BB gun [or airsoft gun] sitting on the console of the stolen truck.
Murray was booked into the Utah County Jail on several felony charges including aggravated robbery, theft, property damage, aggravated assault (four counts), failure to stop at command of law enforcement, assault against a peace officer and possession of drug paraphernalia.
She is being held without bail.
