A "strange" female walking up and down Main Street in Duchesne, urinating on the sidewalk

Duchesne, Utah (5-26-26)—The animal control deputy and his wife saw a strange female walking up and down Main Street toward the high school.

The deputy notified Cpl. Cox said the woman was attempting to hitchhike and was hugging street poles.

While Cpl. Cox was en route. Another caller reported that he saw the same female urinating on the sidewalk in front of the high school, then continued walking West, trying to hitch a ride.

The deputy arrived in the area and located the female standing in the road with her thumb out. He pulled over to talk to the woman and identified her as 52-year-old Heather Dawn Sewell.

While the deputy was speaking with Heather, it was obvious she was intoxicated by the odor of alcohol emitting from her breath. She told Cpl. Cox was ditched by her friends, who were staying in Altamont, which is why she was out here now.

The Corporal told Heather she was seen peeing on the sidewalk. She said she didn't want to admit to doing that. The deputy told her he didn't need her to admit it, since there was a witness who had seen her do it. Heather's behavior was strange and erratic, and she was having difficulty standing up. Heather provided a breath sample, which indicated a BrAC of 0.133.

The witness stated he was with his children when he saw the female. She was squatting in the shade, trying to stay cool. He then saw her pants all the way down, and could see liquid trickling down onto the cement. His 8-year-old daughter said she saw her exposed buttocks.

While on scene with Heather, Cpl. Cox tried to find someone who would be willing to come and pick Heather up because he thought she was a danger to herself in her current intoxicated state.

A vehicle arrived on scene, which was the friend Heather was with. The deputy spoke to this friend, who said Heather was freaking out because she wanted more alcohol and had driven her to the Duchesne liquor store. Heather found that she had left her wallet and ID, and then got into an argument with her husband. Heather started slamming the car door and arguing with her husband in the liquor store parking lot, where others could hear.

The friend also said she told Heather to knock it off multiple times. Because of the argument, the friend's husband left on foot. She said she started driving, and then Heather got out and slammed the door again.

Heather was placed under arrest and booked into the Duchesne County Jail.
