On June 15, 2025, a Roosevelt Police Officer Reed stopped a white Ford truck for not having any insurance. The vehicle quickly turned into the car wash, and the officer pulled in behind the vehicle.
Officer Reed identified the driver as 33-year-old Lenora Lu Christensen. She looked as if she was going to run but then came back to the truck. There was also a passenger inside the truck, later identified as Alice Martinez.
Lenora saw the officer, called him by name, and said she was going to wash her truck. She was very talkative and couldn’t hold still.
Lenora stated she had a warrant, but she was in BIA jail and couldn't take care of it. Officer Reed ran her information and found that Lenora had four active warrants for her arrest. She was also driving on a denied driver’s license.
The way she was acting caused concern that she might be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. So, Officer Reed asked if she would be willing to perform some Field Sobriety Tests.
Lenora was asked if she had been using any drugs, and she stated yes, she had used Meth and Fentanyl within the last hour, and her drug of choice is Fentanyl. Lenora was given the test, which she failed.
Lenora was also subjected to additional sobriety tests by Cpl. Cox, and he stated she had failed those tests as well.
Lenora Lu Christensen was placed under arrest and charged with driving on denied license, driving under the influence, and four state-wide warrants.
On June 23, 2025, Cpl. Cox and Deputy Richens were notified about a female who is on pre-trial ankle monitor probation and is currently at a location where she is not allowed.
Deputy Richens and Cpl. Cox went to this location, and Deputy Richens set the alarm off on Lenora's ankle monitor, but there was no communication. The deputy also tried to call Lenora, but she didn’t answer.
The two deputies parked near the home where the ankle monitor was showing Lenora's location and watched several people exit the residence, including Lenora.
Cpl. Cox quickly pulled into the driveway, and Lenora looked at the deputies and then began to step backward toward the front door. Cpl. Cox yelled at her to stop and ran after her. Lenora stopped at the front door and was escorted to the front of the patrol truck.
Deputy Richens located a piece of tin foil in Lenora's hand. Lenora stated that she is "dirty" for Fentanyl right now. The tin foil was opened and a brown substance consistent with Fentanyl. Lenora was also sweating profusely, and her behavior was erratic.
Lenora Lu Christensen was transported and booked into the Duchesne County Jail. A check of Lenora's criminal history showed that she has a prior felony drug conviction within the last 7 years. Her current offense is a third-degree felony.
The current offense is a felony committed while on probation or parole or while free on bail awaiting trial on a previous felony charge. The court finds substantial evidence to support the current felony charge. Therefore, the court orders that Lenora Lu Christensen is to be held without bail.
