A Myton Man Was Arrested For Stepping On A Female’s Throat Until Losing consciousness

Myton, Utah—On March 31st, 2026, law enforcement responded to a domestic violence call in Southeast Myton. The female victim reported that 35-year-old Julian Xavier Marquez Zamora assaulted her after an argument.


The female told dispatch that she was able to get away from Julian with her children and safely reach a family member's house in Myton.


When Deputy Green arrived at the residence, he met with a family member who explained that this was not the first time something like this had happened between the couple.


The deputy met with the victim and observed her to have a swollen bruise around her left eye, bruising around her jaw, and additional bruising around her neck.


The female began to explain the incident to the deputy. She stated that she and Julian got into an argument, which escalated and quickly turned physical. She and Julian got into an argument. She said Julian threw her down, grabbed her by the hair, and was dragging her around the house, then stepped on her neck until she lost consciousness.

When the victim came to, she was under the kitchen table. She got up and tried to leave the residence with her kids, but Julian wouldn't let them go until she threatened to call the police. When the victim mentioned calling the police, Julian ran out of the house toward a field behind their house.


Julian went to the family member's house to speak with the victim while the police were actively looking for him. A family member called 911, advising that Julian had taken off from their residence, heading North.


Deputy Green stopped at the residence to speak with the caller, who told him that Julian had gone toward the back of the house. Julian was found hiding under a camp trailer in the caller's yard.


Julian was arrested, and he told law enforcement that he and the victim were arguing and then started fighting. When the deputy asked him about putting his foot on the victim's neck. He said he did do that because he was holding her down because she was scratching and biting him. Deputy Green asked Julian if the victim had lost consciousness. He replied, "No,"


Other Officers conducted interviews with the children, reporting that they were in the house, two of whom visually saw the incident and reported that they observed Julian stepping on their mom's neck until she lost consciousness. In contrast, the third child heard what was going on from another room. The children reported to other officers that Julian kept them inside the residence until he left on foot.


Julian was transported to and booked into the Duchesne County Jail.
