| Duchesne County | May 13th, 2024 |

At around 12:30 am, Deputy Kearney was dispatched to a domestic assault in progress in the area of 1500 West 8000 South in Duchesne County.

The victim told Central Dispatch that 25-year-old Melicio Ledbeter Cesspooch and a male victim were fighting. The female victim stated that the male victim was trying to get away, but Melicio kept going after him.

The female stated that Melicio was trying to break down the doors. She informed dispatch that Melicio was breaking the windows of her car and leaving the residence westbound.

Melicio wasn't located because he fled the scene before police arrived.

In the female's Voluntary Witness Statement, she stated that she had gone into Melicio's room to get some of her belongings when Melicio started attacking her by pulling her hair and scratching her.

The female victim stated the male victim pulled Melicio off of her, and they went outside. The female victim said Melicio smashed in her car windows and then ran from the residence.

Deputy Kearney spoke with the male victim on May 14th by telephone, who stated that the fight with Melicio started with the female victim, and he went into Melicio’s bedroom. The male victim stated the female was trying to get some of her belongings.

The male victim stated Melicio “blew up” and started hitting the female victim. The male victim said he grabbed Melicio to get him to stop hitting the female, but now the female was hitting Melicio back.

The male victim stated he got Melicio outside, and Melicio stabbed his arm twice with a metal window breaker. The male victim said Melicio then picked up a board and smashed out the windows of the female's car, then left the residence on foot.

On May 14th, 2024, Deputy Kearney located Melicio at a Myton residence and conducted an interview. Prior to questioning, the deputy read Melicio his Miranda Rights, which he stated he understood, and agreed to speak with him about the incident.

Melicio admitted to hitting the female victim multiple times after she started attacking him. Melicio admitted to assaulting the male victim multiple times by using a dangerous weapon (metal pen/window breaker), which caused two puncture wounds in the victim's lower right arm.

Melicio admitted to breaking out the driver's rear window and front windshield of the female's vehicle due to his anger.

The vehicle is a 2007 Lexis, and the value of the damaged windows was more than $500.00 but less than $1,500.00. Melicio is the male victim's adopted son and was raised by him since he was a baby, making the aggravated assault domestic violence.

Melicio stated he didn't know the female other than his dad letting her live in one of the other bedrooms at the residence. There were no domestic violence enhancements for the simple assault and criminal mischief property damage charges tied to the female.

Melicio Ledbeter Cesspooch is being held at the Duchesne County Jail without bail.
