| Duchesne, Ut. | September 11th, 2024 |

At almost 8:00 pm, the Duchesne County Sheriff's Department received a call for disorderly conduct near 16000 West 8500 North in Duchesne County.

While law enforcement responded to the location, dispatch received several calls detailing the suspect's description to be a Native American man around 50 years old yelling profanities in the streets and having a handgun. Callers stated the subject was driving an old, beat-up, gray Nissan SUV.

When Deputy Green arrived on scene, he was met by three witnesses who claimed to have been present while the subject was on the property, yelling threats towards them such as "I'm going to level you out!" and "You're done for!" before leaving in his vehicle.

The victims expressed they knew of the subject being excessively violent in the past, and they were scared for their safety.

The three witnesses were not able to give a name for the suspect but explained where he lives and has caused issues in the past, including having discharged a firearm in the direction of one of their neighbors.

Two of the witnesses explained the manner in which the suspect was behaving, making them think he was intoxicated or under the influence of something.

Two more individuals arrived and explained that he had also had an interaction with the suspect about a year ago when the suspect had shot a firearm in his direction. The individual further explained that the BIA and the FBI had dealt with the suspect in prior incidents.

The witnesses helped Deputy Green locate the suspect's residence on a map app, and it was determined that the suspect's name was 47-year-old Bradford James Longhair.

Deputy Green returned to the scene to collect statements from the victims, where one further expressed Longhair had returned to the property to harass and threaten her and her children a second time after being told to leave.

While threatening them a second time, the victim said Longhair drove down the street at an excessive speed and even swerved towards her cat, striking and killing it in front of her children on purpose.

All the information gathered on the scene was shared with all responding officers, and all units set out to locate and confront Longhair for the charges of Harassment, Threats of Violence, Cruelty to Animals, and Disorderly Conduct associated with this case.

At around 10:30 pm, Longhair was seen driving near the intersection of 15000 W 8000 N, and Officer Murphy with the BIA attempted to initiate a stop.

Longhair evaded the BIA officer and headed towards Deputy Nichols at the intersection of 16000 W 8000 N. Deputy Nichols and BIA Officer Murphy were able to stop and detain Longhair successfully.

Longhair was taken into custody on new charges not associated with this case at that time.

The current offense is a felony. The court finds substantial evidence to support the charge, and finds by clear and convincing evidence that Bradford James Longhair would constitute a substantial danger to any other individual or to the community, or is likely to flee the jurisdiction of the court if released on bail.

Therefore, the court orders that Bradford James Longhair is to be held without bail.
