At around 2:00 AM on Tuesday, Cpl McCurdy with the VPD was dispatched to the Valley Saloon. The report stated a customer threatened to pull a gun on another customer.

The report continued other customers were now restraining the individual who had a firearm on him.

Police arrived and detained the male who was identified by his Louisiana ID card as 23-year-old William Lee Cook.

Involved parties indicated William had been consuming alcohol when he became confrontational and mentioned he carried a firearm.

William left and then returned a short time later. He was seen with a pistol tucked into his waistband. Customers restrained William based on his previous comments associated with having a gun.

While police spoke with William, a Taurus 9mm was located on a nearby vehicle's hood.

William consented to a presumptive Portable Breath Test showing positive for alcohol at .243 BrAC (Breath Alcohol Concentration). William was arrested and transported to the Uintah County Jail.

William Lee Cook may post bail in the amount of $920.00.
