Deputy Woodhouse was patrolling Hwy 40 near milepost 110 in the Roosevelt area. At around 11:42 a.m., a newer silver Ford Escape was traveling 68 mph in a 55 mph zone. The deputy conducted a traffic stop around 3210 West Hwy 40.

The driver, 35-year-old Shantel Lynn Crismon, provided the deputy with an insurance card that appeared to originally belong to a Ford Fiesta. However, the original vehicle had been colored over, and a new 2013 Dodge Avenger was written in.

The insurance card in question was expired, and the insurance company confirmed this, stating that the vehicle in question had never been insured with them. Deputy Woodhouse also found that Shantel's Driver's license was suspended, and she had a warrant for similar crimes from Wasatch County.

The deputy tried to talk to Shantel but continued to tell him that the vehicle was insured, she supposedly had taken care of the incident in Wasatch County, and her license was not suspended, she claimed.

After explaining that although she believes it is incorrect, her vehicle was impounded for violating the Utah state code.

That is when Shantel became very upset. She began flailing her arms, stopping her feet inside the vehicle, and muttering unrecognizable words. Shantel stated something to the effect of "you are not," put the car in gear, and then took off with Deputy Woodhouse at the window.

The deputy called out over the radio the evading, and he was in pursuit.

Deputy Woodhouse chased Shantel West into Roosevelt City limits, during which time Shantel exceeded speeds of 110 mph and passed multiple vehicles illegally.

The deputy terminated the chase around 200 South in Roosevelt due to safety.

The deputy later made contact with Shantel at her residence, where she was taken into custody without further incident.

Shantel is being charged with evading law enforcement from a clear and legal traffic stop.

Reckless driving exceeding 105 MPH on a HWY.

False insurance information to Law enforcement.

As well as multiple other traffic violations, including speeding, driving on a suspended license, illegal passing, and operating without insurance.

The warrant from Wasatch was shown as served.

The current offense is a felony. The court finds substantial evidence to support the charge, and finds by clear and convincing evidence that Shantel Lynn Crismon would constitute a substantial danger to any other individual or to the community, or is likely to flee the jurisdiction of the court if released on bail.

Therefore, the court orders that Shantel Lynn Crismon is to be held without bail.
