At 6:23 pm, Officer Harrison recognized a vehicle traveling southbound on 600 East and 300 North.

The officer has dealt with 41-year-old Melissa Ann Goodrich several times and recognized her from prior interactions. Officer Harrison also knew she had a warrant out for her arrest.

A traffic stop was initiated on the vehicle at McDonald's, where Melissa was advised that she had a warrant for her arrest.

Melissa was asked to step out of the vehicle and ask if she had anything on her person that she shouldn't have. She stated that she had a pipe inside the vehicle. Officer Harrison had Melissa sit on the curb while dispatch confirmed the warrant, and they located one for possession of drug paraphernalia out of Roosevelt.

Melissa told the officer she had her "stuff" on her in a bag inside the car. A search of the vehicle found a container with several syringes with a clear glass pipe consistent with a methamphetamine pipe that had a white residue on it.

Also found was a piece of a blue straw sealed on both ends with a crystal substance consistent with methamphetamine. Melissa has pending felony drug charges in 8th District Court for possession.

Melissa was arrested for the warrant, possession of methamphetamine, a 3rd-degree felony due to priors, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a class B Misdemeanor. Melissa was transported to the hospital for medical clearance, cleared, and transported to jail without incident.
