Vernal City Police responded to 1000 West 300 South on a report of a domestic incident.
When Officer Maughan arrived, he was met by 32-year-old Lysa Mauree Kowell, who denied any physical altercation had taken place.
The officer then spoke to the victim, who had a visible injury on their head that appeared to be fresh. The victim stated they had gotten the injury from a door that Lysa had kicked in. The victim explained that they were trying to separate themselves from Lysa as they had been arguing.
The victim said that they had closed the door when Lysa had kicked it open, hitting their head in an attempt to continue the argument.
Officer Maughan asked Lysa about kicking the door, which she admitted to in anger. She denied knowing the door had hit the victim but said she was just angry, so she kicked the door.
Lysa told the officer that she had been drinking, and when she does she gets very angry.
Lysa Mauree Howell may post bail in the amount of $2,000.00.
