At approximately 6:27 pm, a Duchesne County Deputy was flagged down by a citizen who explained he called Central Dispatch about a reckless driver.

The citizen told Deputy Clyde that he followed the vehicle he described as a red Dodge car to a residence in Duchesne. The deputy followed the citizen to the residence, where he pointed out the vehicle parked in the driveway.

Deputy Clyde ran the license plate, which returned to 45-year-old Sunny Marie Garner.

The deputy walked to the residence and knocked on the door, and Sunny answered. The deputy explained to Sunny that she had been reported as a reckless driver. Sunny stated, "I figured somebody would call me in." She informed the deputy that she was very tired while driving home from work.

Garner's probation officer was called and informed of the incident, and a compliance check was requested on the residence. Sunny was told that Deputy Cox and Deputy Clyde would be searching her home per her probation officer's request.

As the deputies began to search Sunny's purse, she said that she needed to take her phone out. She reached in, pulled out a small purple bag, placed it under her arm, and walked away.

Deputy Clyde said he needed to see what was in the bag, and she handed it to him. Sunny was asked what was in the bag, and she stated there was a meth pipe in the bag. In the bag was a meth pipe with white crystal residue consistent with meth.

Also in the bag was a lighter and a small brown glass container with methamphetamine.

At this time, Sunny was arrested, handcuffed, and put in the back of a patrol vehicle. The deputies continued the search of the residence, and no other illegal items were located.

Sunny was transported to and booked in the Duchesne County Jail. A criminal history search revealed that Sunny had two prior convictions for drug offenses in the last seven years. Because of this, Sunny's current offense is enhanced to a Felony 3.
